“Don’t Move” – A Short Horror Film Review
The story in “Don’t Move” is short but really scary. It starts with a group of friends using a Ouija board to try and speak with spirits, but something goes terribly wrong. Instead of a friendly ghost, they end up calling a demon. This demon doesn’t just appear
it begins killing them one by one. The scary twist is that the demon only attacks when someone moves. So now, the only way to stay alive is to stay completely still. This simple rule makes the film very intense and suspenseful from beginning to end.
There are several characters, but all of them act very well. Their fear looks real and natural. One woman especially stands out she’s very brave but you can still see how scared she is, which made me feel connected to her. Even though the characters don’t talk much, their body language and facial expressions say a lot. You can feel the tension just by looking at them.
The shots in the film are dark and chilling. The director uses close-ups to show how scared the characters are, and wide shots to show the room and build the feeling that something is lurking in the shadows. Slow camera movements help build suspense. The lighting is low, mostly from candles, which adds to the creepy atmosphere.
The sound in the film is also done very well. At first, the music is quiet, but it grows more intense as the demon comes closer. But what really makes the film scary is the silence. When nobody speaks and the room is still, even small sounds like breathing, footsteps, or the demon’s growl become terrifying. The sound design really helps build fear without needing to show too much.
Overall, “Don’t Move” is a brilliant short horror film. It shows that you don’t need a long story or expensive effects to scare people just a strong idea, good directing, and great acting. The demon’s design is creepy, and the ending really shocks you. The film sticks in your mind long after watching.
