INDIVIDUAL FILM REVIEW ''DON'T MOVE''

                                                 ERNEST ZIEMEH KAMINTA

''DON'T MOVE'' AWARD WINNING DEMON SHORT FILM BLOODY CUTS

The story of ''Don't Move'' is simple but very scary. It begins with a group of friends using a Ouija board to talk to spirits. But something goes wrong. A demon appears and starts killing them one by one. The twist is that the demon only attacks people when they move. So, everyone has to stay still to survive. This idea makes the film very tense. The plot is short but strong, with a clear beginning, middle, and end. The ending is a shocking, and it stays in your mind.

There are many characters, but they all act very well. Their fear looks real. One woman is especially brave but also terrified, which makes me feel for her. The actors did not need to say too much their faces and body language told the story.

The shots are dark and creepy. The director uses close-up shots to show fear on the characters' faces and wide shots to show the room, making me feel like something is hiding in the background. There are also slow camera movements that build suspense. The lighting is low, with candles and shadows, which fits the horror theme perfectly.

The music is quiet at first but becomes more intense as the demon gets closer. What makes the film scarier is how they use silence. When no one is talking or when the room is quiet, the fear feels stronger. Small sounds like breathing, footsteps, or the demon's growl are used very well. The sound design helps me feel the danger without showing too much.

''Don't Move is a very good short horror film. It shows how fear can grow just by asking people not to move. The idea is simple, but it works well. The shots, acting, and sound all work together to keep the audience scared. The demon's design is creepy, and the ending is shocking. The film proves that you do not need a long story or big effects to scare people just good direction and a scary idea.
