INDIVIDUAL FILM REVIEW "DON'T MOVE"

INDIVIDUAL FILM REVIEW OF "DON'T MOVE" DIRECTED BY ANTHONY MELTON -SETH RHITOR GYADU; BFATP28014.

Don’t Move (2013) is a terrifying short film from the Bloody Cuts series, directed by Anthony Melton. It immediately throws viewers into a tense, frightening situation. The story follows six friends who, during a casual night of games, mistakenly perform a séance using an Ouija board. Their mistake unleashes a deadly demon into the room. From that moment, the only way to survive is to stay completely still because the demon attacks anything that moves. With rising fear, silence, and suspense, the film shows how panic and even the smallest movement can mean death. The simple but chilling rule is clear: Don’t move or the demon will strike.

STORY AND THEME

This film made me feel really scared and nervous. It creates fear by making you feel like something bad can happen at any moment, just like the people in the film feel. Right from the start, the story pulls you in. It begins just after a group of friends tries to talk to spirits, and things go very wrong. The scary part starts immediately there’s no slow beginning. The film is about a group of friends who call on something evil by mistake. Now, they must stay completely still, or the spirit will come after them. The message in the film is clear: when you mess with dark or spiritual things, bad things can happen. It also shows how fear and panic can make everything worse. There are a few shocking moments, especially how fast the spirit comes and how quickly things go wrong when someone moves, even a little.

CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES

Even though the movie is short and we don’t learn much about each character’s past, their actions feel real. The way they get scared, panic, and try to survive feels natural. The actors did a great job showing real fear. One person in the group stands out in a bad way they didn’t follow the rules, and that caused the danger. Another person stood out for staying calm and trying to help the others. The way the friends talk to each other, argue, or cry during the crisis feels real. It shows how pressure and fear affect relationships.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

The way the movie was filmed was really good. The camera focused on the characters’ faces, showing their fear clearly. It also used shadows and slow camera moves to build suspense. Some of the scenes were especially scary because the camera would move while everyone else stayed completely still. The lighting was mostly dark, with some red colors, which made everything feel more creepy and dangerous. It made the room feel small and trapped, like there was no escape.

SOUND AND MUSIC

The sounds in the film made it even scarier. Sometimes, there was total silence, and other times there were creepy whispers or loud bangs that made you jump. These sounds were used perfectly to build fear. You could clearly hear breathing, whispers, and movements. The music wasn’t too much it was soft and spooky, and it made the scary scenes more intense. You’ll probably still remember the sound and music even after the film ends.

OVERALL IMPACT

The film was very good, especially for a short horror movie. It was full of fear and tension the whole way through. The best parts were how it made you scared without needing blood or monsters  just silence and suspense. The acting, sound, and camera work all worked well together. A small downside is that we don’t get to know the characters very well, but that’s okay because the story is short. The film made me feel fear, shock, and anxiety. I would recommend it to anyone who likes scary movies. It proves that you don’t need a lot of violence to make a movie terrifying  just a smart idea and good filmmaking. In the end, the film leaves you thinking about how fear affects us, and how even one small mistake can cause something really bad.
