Analysis of Lazy Susan

 Lazy Susan is a film I find both entertaining and hilarious. It tells the story of a young lady named Susan whose apparent laziness and creativity leads to several innovations, one of which saves her family business The film explores themes of complex family dynamics and the Asian-American identity. The plot is extremely straightforward, fun and easy to follow with few twists and surprises.

  The characters had depth and complexity along with common flaws that helped me sympathise with them. For example, Susan’s laziness and her mother’s favouritism allowed me to relate more with them. The actors delivered excellent performances. I found Julia Morizawa’s performance especially energetic and engaging. Her character, Annie, provided a strong contrast to the titular Susan making her a stand-out in the cast. I find the relationship dynamic of the characters to be interesting and complex. The sibling rivalry between Susan and Annie provides some palpable tension.

  The cinematography was colourful and engaging. The use of spinning cameras and set pieces correspond with the theme of the film. A shot that stood out to me was a medium shot of Susan sitting at the table during dinner. I think the lighting and framing perfectly communicate the mind-set of the character. The colours and lighting were bright and eye-catching; almost like a commercial.

  The music and sound effects worked well in communicating the mood of the scenes. They did not drown out the dialogue and allowed for clarity. The score was cheerful, adding to the humorous tone of the film.

  The film greatly exceeded my expectations. One of its greatest strengths was the beautiful visual presentation. The colours and lighting were very pleasing to the eye and made for a fun experience. Its greatest flaw, in my opinion, is its use of dialogue. The main characters had little to no dialogue, making it difficult for an audience member to clear grasp the ideas and thoughts of the characters. The film evoke a great amount of motivation and inspiration in me as a viewer. I would definitely recommend Lazy Susan to a friend since it is a such an enjoyable watch. At the end of the film, I was left hopeful and inspired.

 The Punisher: Dirty Laundry  Individual Review by Owusu Ankamah Sophia           The Punisher: Dirty Laundry is a short but powerful film that grabs my attention right from the beginning. It made me feel tense, angry, and also hopeful. The story starts quickly and doesn’t waste time  the suspense builds fast, and i could tell something serious was about to happen.                The plot follows a quiet man living in a dangerous neighborhood. At first, he tries to stay out of trouble. But when he sees people getting hurt, he decides to step in. Without giving too much away, the story was really about doing what’s right  even if it means using violence to stop more harm .There’s also a small but powerful twist where the main character hardly talks, but when he finally acts, his actions was sharp and well-planned.          The characters in the film felt real and believable....
